I first met Josh Skemp, founder of Sonic Gurus, in the early nineties and formed an instant musical bond. My passion as a singer/songwriter was rekindled in a major way by his breadth of knowledge regarding,not only the L.A. music scene, but by his extensive understanding of the history of rock-n-roll, jazz, blues, and music in general! So when I heard he was finally putting all of his wisdom, passion, and know-how to good use, pursuing music production, I was chomping at the bit to get into the studio with him! After graduating Musician's Institute (M.I.) in Hollywood he amazed me not only with his technical skills in recording and mastering but with his keen insight on the major changes ongoing in the music industry at large; from new recording and mastering techniques to current copyright and publishing hurdles! Sonic Gurus is my first choice to help bridge the gap between the historical, nostalgic, and personal musical world...that inspired us all to fall in love with music in the first place, and the exciting, ever-changing musical marketplace ahead of us...where anything is possible!!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Audio Engineering certificate from MI. I know Pro Tools and Logic Pro extremely well.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a deep love and interest in making music. I had chance to go to MI in Hollywood and learned the extremely technical side of audio engineering. I did it to become a better producer , but fell in love with mixing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with Pop, Jazz, Dance, Blues, Rock, Orchestral, R&B, Folk. I haven't worked with Hard Rock or Metal yet, but I would love to.
