Introduction: Are you searching for a violinist for your event who is talented, passionate, creative, unique, and can play any song or style? Look no further! Amanda Marks, also known as Violin Girl, is a professional violinist whose unparalleled improv skills and ability to play by ear allow her to learn, in a matter of minutes, absolutely any song that a client or guests might like to hear. She has no need for a song list- simply send her a message today with the specific song that you want performed at your special event, and she will send you a recording that same day so you can get a perfect idea of how it will sound. Amanda is both a successful acoustic and electric violin player, and as an extremely flexible artist she will take the songs, genre, and violin style you want and tailor the performance to your exact specifications. She has showcased at weddings, corporate events, private parties, small dinners, birthdays, and a personal favorite- developing your idea for the perfect proposal and turning it into a magical reality. Some of her clients include Nordstrom's, The Four Seasons, The Palazzo, Caesar's Palace, The Bellagio, The Marriott, The Cromwell, Green Valley Ranch, The Godfrey, TechCrunch, BioTech, Wilson Dow Group, AWG, Milhouse Engineering, and more. Not only does Amanda run her own successful event performance business, but she is a rapidly rising star in the music scene as an electric violinist and recording artist who has graced the stages of music festivals, clubs, and venues nationally and overseas. She takes tracks, often being mixed by DJs, and improvises over them on the electric violin, thus infusing electronic music with live instrumentation and lots of love. This offshoot of Amanda's performance experience runs the gamut from transformational festivals like Burning Man, Lucidity Festival, Envision Festival, and Northern Nights Music Festival; international appearances in Amsterdam, Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, and Canada; and high-profile venues like the Mixmag Lab Los Angeles, Public Works, Couture, King King, and 1015 Folsom. She currently holds residencies at Drai's Beach Club in Las Vegas and Spin Nightclub in San Diego. Her first official track release comes as a featuring in Deep Tribe's remix of Freddy Be's "Holding Back," which was released on the Perspectives Digital label, reached #76 on the Top 100 charts, and has been supported by the likes of Darin Epsilon, Maya Jane Coles, Soul Button, Matt Darey, Oliver Schories, Erin Sharoni of DJ Mag USA, and more. I'm lucky enough to have a career that is also what I enjoy doing most in the world! I absolutely love connecting with people through music and seeing the joy that the songs I play can bring them. From performing to thousands at music festivals to seeing a new fiancee's eyes light up when she is surprised by me playing her favorite songs, my career spans countless types of performances that all make me unbelievably happy.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I typically charge $150 per hour plus additional fees depending on travel, incidentals, and equipment requirements.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

If a customer is interested in booking me and would like to hear how some of their specific song requests will sound, I'm more than happy to do a rough draft recording of 1-2 songs free of charge. I will then work with the customer through their exact music needs, event details, and all pertinent information until the day of performance.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing the violin for 21 years, beginning when I was two years old, and originally learned through the Suzuki Method taught by the Nevada School of Arts. The Method places a great deal of importance on ear training, and thus I developed the unique ability to easily learn any song of any genre by listening to it. I studied with private violin teachers until I was 18, and have also worked as a professional busker in Vegas' Downtown Arts District and on the Strip since I was 16. When I was 21, I officially launched Violin Girl as an artist brand and professional performance business. Since then, I have not only gained many high-profile clients, but I have traveled nationally and overseas as a electric violinist with a specialty of performing live with dance music.
