I am a real estate agent in Maryland who was in need of a HQS Inspection for my client with a quick turnaround time. 9 Star was able to come out to the home the next day to complete inspection and sent over a copy of report the same evening. Awesome service !! I will definitely be using them in the future!!

This business owner terminated our conversation because I was asking questions to better understand his experience and qualifications to ensure he was the right person for the job. Chatting with Anthony ANTHONY: $305 total price for Home Inspection Total includes: General interior & exterior, Appliances, Plumbing, HVAC systems, Foundation, Attic, Electrical system, Roof, Fireplaces ME:Hello are you ASHI Certified? ANTHONY: I am an Internachi member licensed in MD and VA i am conducting a pre-drywall inspection with Ryan Homes on Friday morning at 8am in washington DC are you available? ANTHONY: Yes I am currently free that morning Do you take payment after the inspection is completed or before? Today 4:33 PM Booking request Date and time Fri Nov 24, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Cancel Status Pending pro confirmation ANTHONY: I usually collect payment at the end of the inspection. I take cash, check or card. Credit card has a 3% service charge ME:Thank you I have sent the appointment request. My project manager requires a copy of your insurance and inspector license information prior to your inspection. Can you send it me at ME: Are you a ASHI master home inspector? ANTHONY: Okay, I can send you that information later this evening. I'm not an ASHI member. I am an Internachi member. They are both organizations for home inspectors that help us to complete our ongoing education among other informational items. I like what I have seen from your reviews and website. ANTHONY: 5 years ME:Is this a full time profession for you? or do you do inspections on a part time basis or on the side along with other professions ANTHONY: Yes I do this full time and honestly, given the nature of your questions, it's clear that you are not comfortable with me inspecting your home which won't make for a good business relationship. Rather than continuing this dialogue, it's better you find another inspector because I am no longer interested. ME:Thank you for showing your lack of customer service. I am buying my home and hoping to hire an inspector to protect my 400k investment and my new construction. My questions stem from the need to understand who it is I am hiring and your experience. Potential customer asked a series of questions as shown but began getting rather too odd and intrusive for my taste. I suggested to her that she find another inspector due to her seeming uncomfortable with using me. She then became very emotional as shown and deliberately marked me as hired to post a negative review about a private conversation we shared which I am believing to be a violation of Thumbtack policy, not sure. I already told her prior to not contact me again. I don't mind potential clients asking me questions about my credentials but there is a certain point where it gets ridiculous. It's better to have no business than to do bad business in my opinion which I suggested.

I try to make my pricing both competitive and fair. I provide a great service at a more than reasonable price
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I explain the inspection agreement with the client so that they better understand what it involves. Then I get to work ensuring their potentially new home does not have any major defects
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied engineering and physics in college and worked as an engineering laboratory inspector. I then received more training to inspect residential properties and started my business this summer.
