FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices are based on the national Blue Book job rate, discounted by 20% for regional cost of living differences. My trip charge ($65 in Lawrence, $72 outside of Lawrence) will be incorporated into an overall estimate you can review before proceeding with a repair. The trip charge is a one-time fee for coming up with a diagnosis and a plan for repair.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will ask for a clear description of the problem and the model number of the unit. I'm happy to help you find the model number!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
One year of trade school and 8 years of appliance repair. I'm also a member of the Advanced Appliance Technicians of America, a small, by-invitation-only group of repair technicians who help each other stay up to date on the latest work advisories, recalls, and new technology.
