Introduction: I believe that yoga teaches us how to live our lives off the yoga mat. I believe that yoga is more than simply moving through postures––it is a way of giving grace to our minds and bodies so that we can open our hearts to live more fully. My intention is to share yoga in playful ways that inspire people to create a regular yoga practice.
I have been practicing yoga for 12 years and teaching for 8 years. In that time, I have learned that yoga can give something to E V E R Y O N E.
I first rolled out her mat in 2004 at a workshop where I fell in love with the postures. They made me feel connected to the people around me––the music was fun, the yoga was new and AH-mazing, and best of all…I got to practice barefoot! From that moment, I was hooked.
Throughout my practice, I have had several teachers who introduced me to a variety of styles of yoga including Hatha, Astanga, Yin, Vinyasa, Power, and Anusara. I have studied with the YogaFit 200 RYT and Zen Zone 200RYT programs.
I see myself as both a teacher and a student––a lifelong learner who is fascinated by the stories and experiences of others and what I can learn from them.
I teach thoughtfully designed classes using lighthearted music, props, and intention to create a heartfelt practice that is appropriate for any type of body and level of ability. I like to walk around, give adjustments, and reflect in my classes. Sometimes I even bust out a little Sanskrit!
