Introduction: My goal as a voice teacher is to help my students learn about their natural voice, gain better breath support, increase their vocal range, and become more comfortable with performances and auditions. I mainly focus on musical theatre and classical but usually have one recital a year where I encourage creative and learning of different genres. I love seeing the progress my students make. I enjoy watching them perform and doing something they love to do.

Leah Ward is an enthusiastic and positive voice teacher. Through innovative and fun ways she has helped students improve their vocal tone quality and expand their range. It has been fun to hear students reach notes they never thought they could reach and sing with a richer tonal quality.

My daughter has been taking Voice Lessons with Leah for almost two years. Leah has an engaging personality and works well with my daughter. She has helped her increase her vocal range and introduced songs that have challenged her and helped her voice develop. As a teacher Leah is dependable and flexible. She lets her vocal families know her expectations up front and has been a pleasure to work with. My daughter genuinely looks forward to her voice lessons every week.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a flat fee per month. For ages 12 and up I do weekly 30 minute lessons for $75 a month, ages 14 and up are weekly 45 minute lessons for $100 a month. I also offer group voice lessons for young singers ages 10-12 which are weekly 1 hour lessons for $50 a month.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically the first lesson I will review my policy with the student/parent and discuss the student's musical history. Then I will hear the student sing a prepared song. I check the student's starting range, pick some appropriate songs or music books that the student should purchase, and answer any questions my customers have for me. If starting in the middle of the month, the first month only will be prorated.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 10 plus years of professional training. I have a degree in Vocal Performance from Utah State University. I have been teaching private voice lessons for about 3 years.
