FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are often negotiable. I am open to interesting projects and don't want fees to make a difference in whether I get to work on something fascinating.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want to know whatever I can about what my client wants to express and what target audience is anticipated. I do a quick read through the material to get a sense of it. Then I go through it in detail. My experience in editing has been for individual clients, not those who expect standard editing marks. I use my own marks. My clients have found them easy to see and understand. Generally I change the type to dark blue and highlight in green for changes in spelling, grammar, or punctuation. I change the type to red and highlight in yellow for more substantial changes. Some clients prefer the red/yellow combination for all changes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My college transcripts reflect a majority of courses in English, History, and Psychology. I also have credits in Mass Communications, Drama, and Motion Picture Production with a final GPA of 3.86.
