FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are very reasonable. I do not like to give prices over the phone if it can be avoided. I like to do a walk-through to get a scope of work I can base my price off of.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial phone call I will setup an in-home meeting. During the in-home meeting I give my clients a little backstory on who I am and why I love my work. I like to get to know my clients and them know who they are dealing with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a kid I enjoyed figuring out how things worked and how they were built. That sparked my love for my work! I started in the construction industry at 18 years old, fresh out of high school, working for our cities maintenance department. From there I became a carpenters helper for 5 years learning all about home construction, from the beginning stages to the finished product. I than spent 2 years doing home structural work, fixing cracked, leaking or broken foundations on homes, offices, weak river bank walls and more from settlement over time. It gave me a greater understanding of why soil quality and grading quality were a very important steps to home building. I also acquired knowledge to better understand how a house moves and settles over time and how to repair the homes structure when that occurs. I than went on to work in the restoration industry for 3 years, which helped me understand insurance losses and the process to undergo when unexpected damage occurs in a home. I acquired a water mitigation certificate, a mold remediation certificate, a smoke and odor certificate, and a content restoration certificate. Restoration work taught me a lot more than I could have ever imagined. Mostly it taught me how to be an understanding person and how to work with people when their emotions are running high from unfortunate circumstances. I learned a lot about the structural integrity of the material used to build homes and how they are affected by different elements. I also learned how to mitigate a problem so no further damages can be caused from it, and how to restore the material back to it's original state as well as restoring the customers home to the original state. I than spent the last 4 years working as a subcontractor remodeling houses from top to bottom. I continue to grow my. knowledge in my industry every day.
