Introduction: Contrary to most professionally trained music teachers, kindness and patience towards students are at the core of my philosophy. And, contrary to most overly gentle music teachers, I am professionally trained, having studied music in college for four years :)
I take great pride in teaching students not only to be bassists, but to be musicians who specialize in the bass. I thoroughly enjoy the wholeness of bringing aspiring bassists into the world with both technical and intellectual mastery of their craft.

Jeremy has been giving me bass lessons for the past 3 months or so, and in that time we have strived closer to my goal of learning about music theory in each lesson. Jeremy clearly puts effort into preparing his lessons for the needs of individual students, and does a great job delivering those.
Furthermore, he understands the subtleties of several different styles of music including jazz, classical, and rock. Jeremy uses that knowledge to talk about how different types of music are played on bass as part of his lessons, which I think is extremely interesting.
Ultimately though, what I appreciate most is Jeremy's demeanor. I was initially very nervous to have my bass playing judged by a teacher, but his easy going and somewhat team oriented approach quickly put me at ease with making mistakes and learning from those mistakes.
I would definitely recommend Jeremy to anyone wanting to take bass lessons. I'm certain he will put the effort in to help you achieve your specific goals. He seems to enjoy not only the music, but the teaching of it as well.
