FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In hospital newborn photography training on posing, safety, cleanliness, etc with Mom365. Self training in Adobe Photoshop CS5, Picasa, and other editing programs to provide you with the most beautiful photos possible.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I picked up a camera at the age of 12 and a pass time grew into a love and passion. I would take my point and shoot and photograph nature. It was then that I realized that I had a love for it. In 2010, I purchased a small point and shoot to get myself back into photography, snapping photos of nature, animals, plants, etc. I realized my skill was exceeding the quality of the camera so in 2012, I purchased my first DSLR camera, the Nikon D3200; Which I still use to this day. I shot some good photos and decided to make a go out of photo sessions with friends and family for practice, as I'd never professionlly photographed people before. Once I got that down, I stumbled across the job with Mom365 at a hospital here in Macon taking newborn photos. I got some extensive trianing on the camera systems, posing, safety courses for newborn posing and photography, etc from a seasoned employee there at the hospital. I instantly fell in love with it, as I wanted to become an OBGYN as a child. That was the best 8 months of my life. Now I just freelance and do my own thing. I occasionally photograph my friends babies when they are born because I just love doing it.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have always been fond of newborn photography. It amazes me the way that they can pose the babies. I have learned alot over the years and learned proper posing techniques that have allowed me to capture the photos that I have, which is amazing for me. Being able to do this full time would be a dream come true for me.
