I highly recommend Aziza Callahan. Aziza teaches my three children piano and the ukulele. She is always prompt and ready to work with the kids. She makes learning to play the piano fun and really helps to ensure that each child progresses every week.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied Classical at Belmont University and Music Theatre at Westminster College of the Arts.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started teaching quite by accident. I was newly moved to the Red Bank, NJ area and had taken up guitar lessons at the School of Rock. One day after coming out of my lesson, the school's manager was upset that a young man's vocal coach had not shown up for the third week in a row, and I interrupted him to say that I could teach the student. My guitar teacher vouched for me and the rest as they say is history. I have been teaching vocals, piano, and ukulele ever since.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Recently I was hired to teach 60 South Korean Students as they toured New Jersey and Manhattan. I worked in two groups with these children, ranging in ages 14-17, to create a showcase in one week. Both groups learned four songs each, as well as staging, and acting techniques, all in a language they did not speak. Our language barriers did not stop us from creating something truly wonderful and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have had this experience.
