Introduction: Freelance Event Photographer Education/Background: Army Veteran - Engineer. I have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Biblical Theology. Photography: I just relocated from Virginia to Georgia. All of my work on my profile and website are from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. I served as the director of the Photography Ministry at St Stephen's Baptist Church Maryland from 2017-2021 and I volunteered as a photographer for Rural Dog Rescue Washington DC from 2017-2021. Available most evenings and weekends. My shooting style is basic/classic photography (nonartistic). I've done numerous events including weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, family reunions, conferences, community service projects, cancer walks, holiday parties, and other church and military events. I've also done several on-site printing events. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am a part-time photographer. I consider my prices rather low because I do not want to overprice my customers. My shooting style includes traditional/classic poses.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost every customer is unique and I want to make sure I understand what the customer requirements are and what type of photos are needed. I will not agree to do a job that I know I can’t do. I will reconfirm with the customer before the event or photoshoot. During the event, I try my best to not be in the way while capturing the best photos I can. I normally provide photos within one week after the photoshoot or event. I will ask customers if there are additional editing wanted after they have viewed the photos. Additionally although I am not a true videographer, during an event I will capture short video clips as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve attended numerous photography classes over the last several years. My formal education is in mechanical engineering and business administration. I am also serving in the military.
