Introduction: I am an active soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral artist, and teacher. I recently completed my Doctor of Musical Arts at USC and graduated from the Juilliard School and Paris Conservatory. I have performed in prestigious halls across the U.S (Kennedy Center in D.C., Alice Tully Hall in NYC), Europe and Asia. Since relocating to Los Angeles, I regularly perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and maintain an active private studio. I offer cello lessons to beginners, intermediate and advanced player; children, teenagers and adults. I am very passionate about teaching. I deeply care about accompanying each of my students to develop their full potential and help them reach their goals with cello and music. My commitment as a teacher is to provide a solid and healthy foundation of technique, musical knowledge as well as developing artistry. It is also very important for me to share with students my love for music.

Juliette is an excellent instructor. She delivers her lessons with good direction and knowledgeable insight. She motivates you to embrace the Cello and its magic. Of course, as I am a beginner, Juliette has her work cut out for herself with me as a student. She is patient and generous during this awkward beginning stage. I came to the cello as an adult beginner. I could not have found a better teacher than Juliette. I feel very fortunate. It is clear from the start that she is a superbly trained cellist with a keen eye for detail and a deep reservoir of patience. Even over Zoom, she’s able to pick out the beginnings of every bad habit. She makes herself available for questions in between lessons and is always ready with pointers and advice. I highly recommend Juliette as a cello teacher.

I started cello learning three months ago. I feel so lucky to have Ms.Juliette as my first teacher. I’ve played piano for over twenty years. I know a good teacher is so important for the string instrument beginners. She is so nice and very experienced in cello teaching! I’ve improved a lot even though we can only do online lesson at this moment. Highly recommend her to cello lovers!!!

I have loved working with Juliette. She is very responsive and great at making the lessons applicable to me. She was also very helpful in helping me pick out my cello. She has made doing lessons over technology seem extremely easy as if we were in person! I would highly recommend her as a cello teacher!

I am so glad I found Juliette. I have always wanted to learn the cello and I tend to have trouble pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and do it, but I am sure glad I made the leap and did! I have learned so much. She is very patient and understanding. She makes me want to continue to learn and strive to do better. She is very encouraging and inspiring as well. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually like to first talk on the phone or meet to get to know students better and discuss their motivations and goal(s). We also talk about how much time they are will have to practice, what kind of repertoire they would like to play, etc. Then, I come up with a customized approach that best fit the student’s need as well as explain some of my teaching philosophy. I also provide an idea on what the content of the lesson would be week-by-week.
