The Write Girl
About this pro
Cynthia was awesome! She listened to everything I said and incorporated it into a very well displayed resume. In addition to being a wonderful listener, she was kind, prompt, insightful and professional. Don’t hesitate to use her - she’s worth every penny!Aug 14, 2018VerifiedCYNTHIA G.'s reply

Wow! An amazing experience, I ended up coming the the ”write girl” with a tight deadline needing a lot of help and she rose to the occasion. I gave her a pile of carbon and she gave me back a diamondJul 9, 2018VerifiedCYNTHIA G.'s reply

Thank you so much, Margrethe. It was really a pleasure working on your project.
Never really got to work with her. She said she could do everything but then decided that she only wanted to work certain times and days and that back and forth emails don't work for her. This is fine but best to say this stuff all up front so no one's time is wasted.Nov 16, 2016VerifiedCYNTHIA G.'s reply
After seeing this review, I apologized to Goli for not emphasizing enough my current schedule (I have a baby so I work currently every other day. If I'm paid enough, this is not necessary as I can afford childcare). After being hired, I spoke with her partner who further explained details that made it clear to me I wouldn't be able to satisfy their needs. He wanted me to be flexible about returning calls whenever they came in from the websites he wanted me to be in touch with on his behalf and it was simply not possible. Of course I wish I had emphasized my schedule more to Goli when she was interviewing me and feel very badly they wasted their time like that. But I just want it out there in the Thumbtack Universe that I do inform all prospective clients about my availability - whatever it is at the moment - in order to manage expectations. I make sure I can do the job needed in the turnaround required by the client. I think there was some miscommunication here but I promise future clients, I am a transparent cookie. And also my schedule is not fixed, that is just how it is right now.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I tend to give a free 1/2 hour consult, time permitting, to make sure everything is a good fit for both me and the client. I want to ensure I can help; that my skill set matches the client's needs. Once that is decided upon, I'm usually well aware of how best to help and price accordingly. I don't price low, I don't price high. I price fairly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to first assess what is going on. Typically I give a half hour free phone consult to make sure it's a good fit and to better understand the goals of the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I'm a pro that has written primetime television shows, developed and executed a podcast and formulated a fun blog that got a little bit of attention back in the day. I also have advised writers in a university atmosphere as well as consulted one-on-one with writers. Frankly, I'm such a big advocate of writers and of people who want to be creative or have a creative project that needs attention, that it's a joy to help people achieve their goals through the written word.
