I have tried several hot diets - Atkins, South Beach, Paleo - and cleanses that made me feel like I was losing weight but made my energy plummet so fast that I could barely work my eyelids. I have been a dedicated member of my local gym but the personal trainers I had hired at the gym weren't making me look and feel how I wanted. A colleague recommended I contact Kaitlyn. I am so glad I did! Kaitlyn debunked most of the diet myths I had grown to believe. She changed the way I think about eating, what I eat, and how I prepare my foods. I never knew my vitamix blender, cast iron skillet, and baking sheet would get so much use! Her meal plans are easy to prepare, simple, and delicious. I'm allowed to eat carbs! And chocolate! The best thing is that when my husband and I are done with a meal, I'm not left starving and thinking about what strange diet pudding I should allow myself to gorge on as dessert (her meals are WHOLE and SATISFYING). Although Kaitlyn has helped primarily in my eating/cooking habits, I have also incorporated meaningful changes into my exercise routine based on Kaitlyn's advice (more weights, more muscle sprouting barre exercises, and less treadmill-to-death time). Working with Kaitlyn was such a refreshing experience. I've gone to many trainers before where you walk away feeling like it was not personal and almost a rehearsed and rushed interaction. This was certainly not the experience I had. Kaitlyn is very direct and to the point and has incredible intuitive knowledge about the body. And where she has this focused side, she is also so warm and energetic. She really makes you feel comfortable with voicing any concerns you have or opting to try a different variation of an exercise if what you're doing feels too challenging or not quite right. I feel like after each session, I walk away having learned something new about my body. It's a wonderful, personal experience that I highly recommend. She is knowledgeable in all things health and fitness, patient with those who need more hand holding, and she is persistent. She helped me reach my goals quickly and in a healthy way. I've been working out with Kaitlyn for the past few months and I'm already seeing amazing results. She's incredibly skilled and knowledgable in her profession, and her exercises are fun yet challenging. I'll admit there are times when I'm feeling less than motivated, but Kaitlyn never fails to find a way inspire and lift me up. I also opted for a nutrition plan given my lack of creativity in the kitchen and it's been extremely helpful in keeping me on track. Somehow she's found a way to make healthy eating less painful (there's nothing worse to me than bland baked chicken with the same old veggies), and I'm grateful for that. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?The first thing we will do is discuss your goals in detail. Once I know your goals, we will go through a questionnaire to understand where your main struggles have been, what type of workouts will best fit your goals and preferences, and what you can do outside of our sessions to help achieve your goals.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?After years in public accounting and then tech I realized how challenging it is to stay healthy in this busy world. I taught fitness before and after work, and was still struggling to maintain my health. I decided to leave my desk job and follow my passion, which is to help people move more and eat right.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I have worked with young working professionals, busy parents, pre and post natal clients, clients with injuries, and individuals who have never worked out before.
