FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm committed to a high quality service, and do not deliver huge amounts of images. The images are hand picked by the customer, and each image is delivered with excellence. The customer is in control as to whether the individual images serve them.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We check a few things in advance, usually by email, where we go over the client's needs, the wardrobe, and other details. If I never met the client in person, I normally ask for a snap pic just to get an idea of how the person looks, so I can plan it well, maybe even offer additional suggestions that are specific to their look. On the appointed date, in the studio, we shoot against a solid background, typically grey, but it can also be black, or off-white. This setup yields clean, great looking images, and we have more freedom to work the person's expression. Sessions usually take 45 minutes to an hour, it depends on how it goes. We may try a few different clothing options, or hair changes, or even switch the background or change the lighting. I will work with that person until I believe we got the best shots we could get. After the headshot session, the client goes through the images and pick the favorites, and I help them through this process. A final selection is done, and I'll retouch them before delivering. Retouching can take one to three days to complete, depending on volume and availability. The high resolution file(s) of the retouched image(s) are then electronically sent to the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Social Communications, which included photography. I'm constantly training, reading, learning from other pros and acquiring new knowledge on photography. My Masters is in Software Engineering, but my passion has always been photography.
