Introduction: I am a fashion/wardrobe/celebrity stylist and fashion designer for over 17 years with vast experience in guiding all of my clients to look and feel their best. My celebrity client's include Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Kate Winslet, Leo Di Caprio, Penelope Cruz, Steven Spielberg, Annie Lennox, George Clooney, Robin Wright, Keith Urban, Mandy Moore, Ashton Kutcher, and many more. I have styled for over 30 magazines, including Angeleno, Prestige International Magazine Paris, Vogue, Elle, W Magazine, People, Shape, In Style, GQ, Ocean Dr., Surface, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire magazines. I can start in your closet, and do a clean-out or edit, or we can go straight to shopping, depending on your needs. I have a passion for fashion, and have access to collections 6 months before they are in the stores. Seeing the trends, I can guide your purchases to what I know will give mileage to your wardrobe, and what styles to stay away from because they will not be around long. I am a great listener and can transform your unique vision to your work, travel, special occasions, and everyday life. I have had some of the same clients for over 15 years, and that is real success to me. Women have sent me over to their husbands or boyfriends, and vice versa. I also style children...young or not so young. I love what I do!! I do not stop until my clients are extremely happy and confident that we have achieved all of their needs. I am super creative, as I come from an entertainment background, but know that real life means real clothes. I am an expert at fitting, and knowing what colors, and styles work on my clients different body shapes and sizes, both men and women. I would not do what I do if I did not feel that I can change a clients self confidence, or general happiness, and achieve what we set out to do. When my clients are happy, I am happy.

I hired Melissa to shop for me and assist me with my wardrobe. She did an amazing job by first organizing my closet and identifying what I needed to make my wardrobe work perfectly. Melissa uses the human body as her canvas to recognize and fashion a spirit. She watches and listens to the person she is to style, then brings forward the 'pop' in that person without changing who they are and how they express themselves. That's what she did for me. Melissa's artistic gift of fashion styling me was given to me as a birthday gift from my daughter. It was my big Medicare age-65 yrs. I was nervous, but excited to do something different to start my new year. Melissa did not limit me because of my age. Yet at the same time she did not dress me like a teeny bopper or snag the latest fashion fad. Instead she used colors, lines and texture to bring out my best. She chose colors I would never have chosen. In fact she worked around a new pink color lipstick that I purchased that made my blue eyes pop out and dance. She chose well fitted jeans that had jagged bottoms to give them a twist of casual. She chose floral prints that I was sure would make me look fat, but did quite the opposite.I looked chic and refined with a flirt and a flair. She made me look like I wasn't trying too hard to dress myself. Instead, it looked like I just grabbed some items out of my closet that just happened to go together and I threw them on. I always wondered how women could do that- how they would put things together that by themselves looked like they would never go together, but when grouped on their body, it just worked uniquely for them. Melissa's natural artistic gift made that happen for me. I have always looked at magazines and thought, "Well, those women have the money, or the body, or the fashion taste to pull it off. But that would never work for me!" Well, Melissa changed that attitude. Not only did I leave with some very versatile outfits that I could expand with clothing I had at home. But she also taught me how to find an item and 'pop' it, even with the clothes, accessories and shoes I had in my own closet. She taught me how to take something that did't seem to usually belong, but then how to twist it into a unique look with just one item. Just that one 'pop' fashion item could cause heads to turn, nods of admiration and a confident pep in my step for the whole day. Melissa is a master stylist. If you are lucky enough to get her time and attention consider it a life windfall. She is a wise, sensitive artist from another time who shares her heart as well as her skill. You will not be the same person after you meet with her, inside or out. She made my heart swell. She made my birthday a rite of passage and memory I will never forget. Thank you, Melissa!

This was my first experience at hiring a professional to help me clean out and organize my closet, and then take me shopping for the variety of things that were missing in my wardrobe. I am extremely happy that we cleaned out a lot of what was not working in my closet, to make room for what does now work. I needed jackets and pants for work, some travel pieces, some great fitting jeans, new shirts, and some weekend wear. It was an amazing experience and worth taking the time to finally get my wardrobe set, so that I don’t have to think anymore about what to wear. I am now confident that what I put on fits me properly, looks good on me, and fits my personality. Excellent service and I would advise any guy to take the time and go thru the process!

I work on an hourly basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out what my clients need, and then go thru their closet to clean out what they are not wearing anymore, and what doesn't fit. I then like to take my clients shopping as I can help them see what looks good on them and learn their style. It's a process that is important in continuing the process with or without me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in fashion design and again, 17 years in costuming for Award Shows, Commercials, Celebs, Magazine Covers/editorials, Music Videos, and Product Styling.
