FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is flexible, and I like to consider myself very fair for a client's budget. There is a baseline fee which I offer for individuals and start-up companies who are in need of my skills. Beyond that I go through a process of figuring out the average hours I work on a project for a week, and then send this offer to the client. You will always see my fee upfront, prior to any work being done. I will never make you feel as if you have to pay me because I started before we've agreed upon the fee. As with every aspect of my business, making the client feel comfortable and able to understand everything about the process is of most importance to me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It all begins with a discussion between myself and the new client. I'll be asking them a variety of questions but some of the most important are the values of their business, their targeted demographic along with examples of their competition. Once we've hashed out all of these questions is when I begin the actual concept stages, sketching up ideas and then applying them to simple mock-ups in Illustrator before presenting them to the client. In this concept stage I'm very willing to wildly change the direction of the design, however I reign that in to more color focused and minor details once we've chosen a design style to go with. Throughout the entire process I try to be as detailed as I can, because I understand many people simply don't know how to ask the right questions. I like to think I give them the right answers without them even needing to.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm self-taught in using Adobe Illustrator CS6, as well as Adobe Photoshop CS6. I've also some minor knowledge of using InDesign. Overall I've been doing this sort of work for coming onto a year.
