Introduction: There are 2 unique differences between myself and other DJ's in this area.
1. I've been doing this professionally for 29 years. It is my passion and truly what I was born to do. With over 1400 wedding receptions under my belt, I feel truly blessed to have been a part of so many couples BIG day. Not to sound boastful, but I feel like I know the formula for a successful night.
2. I spent 5 years as an entertainment trainer with The Walt Disney Company. Disney is great at making people feel like they are a part of something bigger. They do this through emotional connections (making you laugh, cheer for the hero, tug on your heart strings). This is important to wedding receptions because it is the KEY for that EPIC celebration that everybody wants for their wedding. The fact is, if I can connect to your guests on an emotional level, they will celebrate more. They will dance more, drink more, and ultimately take more memories home with them. People remember major events in life by the way they make them feel. I can connect your guests to this like no other.

The owner of this company was great to work with. His responsive time was very quick and he was on time to set up the equipment. However, I was not impressed with the DJ. He was nice enough and tried to be very accommodating by asking for a playlist and any objections. I was very clear and upfront when researching for a DJ and asking for experience. I made it clear that this was a party for a high school student and that I wanted clean music that would be played at a school function. I wanted music that teenagers would enjoy, but also censored and clean. I mean, they do this at school dances (Proms, Homecoming, Military Balls) all the time, right? That's not what I got; instead for the first couple of hours oldies music was played until I had enough complaints by the kids that I had to go up and ask that he play music more on their level.
The other thing that I made sure and asked for was if the DJ was an entertainer. I asked if he was going to entertain the guests and make it to where they wanted to actually get up and dance.
The response I received was , "I was an entertainer for The Walt Disney Company for 5 years. As such, our
music is squeaky clean and we are entertainers not button pushers." That is NOT what I got. The DJ did not speak but maybe two or three times the whole night. He did play songs that I specifically requested that have official dances to them, but he wasn't really entertaining or on the mic trying to get everyone to get out on the floor.
I just believe that I could have done the same thing by getting a few speakers and playing music off Pandora or something for MUCH less than I paid. The whole reason for hiring a DJ was because I wanted entertainment. I wanted someone to get the guests involved.
