Introduction: I love to teach! I help my students to be the best they can be. And to be prepared for their school orchestra, All County and All State Orchestra, Louisville Youth Orchestra, KMEA Solo Ensemble Festival, Governor's School for the Arts ,YPAS and college auditions, and whatever else they may be interested in. I teach in traditional style and include technique scales and solos in our lessons.My students are encouraged to fill out practice sheets and parental interaction is a plus. I teach beginners through adult. Ages 4 years and up. I have been teaching and performing for over 35 years.
I enjoy working with people to help them reach their goals through music. I believe that by learning to play music you learn about life.I enjoy watching my students grow as musicians and as people.I maintain relationships with my students even after they have moved on. Next year I will have three students at YPAS, two in the Manual Concert Orchestra and around 18 in LYO. One of my viola students was just accepted at both the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and U of L.I am so proud of these kids.
But I am just as proud of my 7 year old student who learned to play Twinkle. And of my adult students who are learning to play together as a quartet. I cherish my life in music.
I currently teach online lessons but will eventually return to in person lessons as well as online.
