As i have attempted to pickup guitar on my own a few times in the past years only to get frustrated and stop, i decided to look for an instructor to guide me into what i am doing wrong and allow me to progress. I decided on Lisa as her back ground and written approach seemed to mirror what i was looking for. After the first lesson she had me playing music in an area i struggled, ie rythm/chord progression. She taught me three easy chords that sound great together. All my previous online or self help courses started out with very challenging chords. The simple approach to begin has brought back the eagerness to learn and fun back into guitar. We will get back to those harder chords as my skills develop. Lisa is very knowledgeable. I look forward to continuing this journey.

The day we were going to meet, Lisa had a personal issue come up and she was unable to help me find our meeting place. She more than made up for this, even offering a lesson on her to make up for the misunderstanding. She went out of her way to make this right. She is awesome!

While I'm confident Lisa tailors her lessons to an individual student's desired pace, she has the ability to teach with the kind of speed and rigour that serious players are looking for. She shines the most with her knowledge and taste for music. She seems to have a deep understanding of the music theory that's relevant to teaching someone the guitar. Lisa has proven to me that she cares about my growth through her kind but telling actions. Small things, such as keeping me after the scheduled time free of charge, so that we could work on some concepts. A solid pick for a guitar teacher!

Lisa was very responsive and transparent about the whole process. We've only had one lesson (with 9 year old) so far but he loves it, enjoyed the class and is really looking forward to going back!
