FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to provide a fair price for each job and am very thorough in my pricing. I will very rarely give a quote without detailed research or a good understanding of design. Too often a customer will be shocked by the cost of what may seem to be an obvious or needed change because of something unforeseen and unplanned for and will break the budget if the project isn't thought through. I can charge hourly, but usually try to take on jobs in a daily approach. Factors I consider are if I'm using helpers or not and how many. If there is a large amount of demo and disposal will determine more cost. The type of finishes and type of construction can determine more labor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to meet in person or talk through projects over the phone. I have a lot of questions to make sure I do the job to exact expectations of the customer and I want the customer to ask all the questions they have to ensure the job is done to their expectations. I provide my card and talk through projects to demonstrate my knowledge and ability to do the job. I then communicate about expectations regarding timeline, finishes, material, costs,...I communicate regularly to stay in touch with customer during project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently attending Ashworth College for Construction Management and have many years of family construction experience. Also worked for HCI as a framer and with Bockmann CC as a helper, carpenter.
