MUCH better verbal and phone correspondence with customer. Show up for work on time and work on the projects as directed for more than just a short time, here and there. Finish one project area before starting on another section. Do not leave trash around the project for customer to pickup. Company owner must communicate at all times to his workers about the tasks as hand and be available to observe & inspect the work his employees are doing. This is a family owned business and the owners 20-something son did nearly all the work. There were several "do-overs" that appeared to me the son and his dad weren't on the same page all the time. Because of the several do-overs at the end of the project, the owner and son began to become surly and defensive about the work being done which had not been promised and agreed upon. The work was "finished" if you call it that today, 7-22. I paid the last installment, mostly to get them off my property before any more friction began. The owner sent his son by to pick-up the final check, not even having the professionalism and courtesy to do it himself. This told me he didn't want to hear any more about the project shortcomings from me. I would not hire this company again for any reason and would not give the company any positive feedback. His face book posts shows positive work and feedback; he won't be putting my project on his face book page!!!!!

After doing this for 27years i havent had anything quite like this. We pride ourselves on professionalism, quality of work knowledge and good customer svc. This is very unfortunate and not quite the way it happened but as i was always taught customers always right. Although there were many last minute additions and changes made that made us feel that we were not ever going to be able to finish, we did them with a smile. We also didnt charge the "anonymous" customer for any of the additional work completed just so we could move on.... Im very sorry the customer felt the way he did. We felt we went above and beyond to do what was asked of us. The right way!

Initially, We discussed extending fence 8 feet, adding a cement addition to our porch, adding a rock area and additional grass. The scope of the job we discussed included: -moving and adding support poles for the fence. -Several sprinkler heads needed to be Moved for the new cement porch, deleting/capping the sprinkler lines past the new porch “so no water would be running under the porch” (those were Kevin’s exact words) and tapping into existing sprinkler line to add two heads to cover the additional grass area being created by moving the fence. -The removal/dig up the existing grass in the extension area of the porch to the front gate (rock area) and sanitize the area cause it was were the dog went to the bathroom. -the poring of a small concert L around the existing porch with expansion joints and a curb in front front gate - laying landscape tarp and rocking the walk area from the porch to the front gate. Originally Kevin said the cost would be approx $1800. I had told him great - I didn’t want to go over 2k. His first written estimate came in 50% over the verbal quote. In shock and not happy with the price difference, we settled on everything except the additional grass and sprinklers in the fence extension area but adding metal edging to stop the rock from mixing with the grass. Also to cut the cost, we would use the existing back fence just adding two new 8ft sides. When Kevin met with my husband, Ray, on March 8th to go over everything and receive the down payment - at that time, he told my husband he would add the grass (since he had it) and the additional Sprinkler heads for the agreed upon price of $2165.00. We arrived this Easter weekend , April 19th to visit my son for the holiday. Upon reviewing the backyard and some of the issues my son had mentioned with the sprinkler lines, not only is it not complete but it is was done incorrectly and not what was agreed upon. First, only 1/2 of the sprinklers are working - we only have one station in total which worked properly prior to the work being done. The two additional sprinklers lines were never sunk down into the ground (the pipes are suppose to be 8 to 12 inches below the surface), they were just laid under the grass sod. There is no metal edge to stop the rocks from coming in under the new fence. The existing grass under the rock area was never removed/dig up and is now growing out of the edges on the rock area. I am hoping he laid the concrete correctly but only time will tell. Kevin has stopped all contact and project is not complete .

Details: Smaller changes in current landscape (e.g. plant flowers, trim shrubs) • Already have plans - just need installation • Patio • Plant trees/shrubs • Install/repair sprinklers • Small (less than 1,000 sq ft) • This is a one-time project • Home
