Paula provided a makeover for my wedding in 2006 for myself and for my daughter Aubri who was my Maid of Honor. My daughter rarely used makeup and my normal routine was fairly haphazard: a little moisturizer, occasional "foundation," a little blush, mascara and lip gloss. I must say I was a bit overwhelmed as Paula sat me down in front of her vanity that was loaded full of all sorts of lotions, potions, powders, brushes. So my makeover started with Paula's own edition of "Makeup 101", a thorough education of what was wrong with my makeup routine and the function and importance of the process that was to be my makeover. The completed makeover was beautiful. I was amazed that all the layers produced such a natural glow and sparkle. My favorite was the "fairy dust." Not only do I still use it, but it has been passed down to my daughter and eight year old granddaughter. Nine years later Paula is still my go to person for makeup and skin care. Since my wedding she has also become certified in Aromatherapy not only for beauty but for medical and therapeutic applications as well. This has been a welcome addition to my overall well being. I highly recommend Paula for a makeover for your wedding, other special occasions or skin care needs.

I have been buying skin care products from Posh Paula for a number of years. She consistently finds unique, quality facial creams, cleansers, treatments, hair products, etc that are fantastic, plus is now making her own aroma therapy items. I highly recommend her business.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally I charge $70/hour per person plus traveling expenses if applicable. I have additional artists that I can call in for large parties and the above charges apply to them as well. For very large or on-going situations, fees can be negotiable.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I ask a new customer to come to my studio (although I can arrange to come to them if that is not possible) anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks before the actual event. In this way we can do a run-through so that I can be sure the individual will be happy with their "look", and it affords me the opportunity to see their skin up close and personal. Any makeup artist worth their salt knows that the key to a great look is to have the client's skin in the best possible condition. Generally, I give my clients a minimum of 2 weeks worth of skincare products (gratis) with strict instructions for use to be sure that their skin will be in the best possible condition on the day of their function.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my career as a fashion model with The Carolyn Hansen Agency in Seattle at the age of 18 in 1973. After several years of modeling, in which I did my own makeup, Carolyn liked my style to the extent that she hired me to be the staff makeup artist for the agency. I have furthered my education working with such renowned artists as Dan Raymond, Jim Hadley and the University of Makeup. I have over 40 years of experience in this field, plus I am professional skin care consultant (with my own line of products), I am a Certified Aromatherapist with added education in medical and therapeutic grade quality aromatherapy, I am a Certified Medical Transcriptionist with over 3 years of medical training and I have 3 diplomas and 2 awards in Quality Control and Quality Education Systems, I am a member of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists and I am a VIP member of the Nation Association of Professional Women.
