Introduction: Do you dream of expanding the range, flexibility and beauty of your voice and to sing with ease and expression? If yes, then classical voice lessons are for you. I am a professional opera singer with 10+ years teaching experience. I have taught all levels and ages, including students who have physical disabilities and learning disabilities. I have trained with great European masters from Italy to Russia and I have a master's degree in vocal performance and piano performance from George Mason University, and a performance certificate from Manhattan School of Music.
Developing my students' talent and encouraging their love for music to grow into a life long skill is my passion. I believe that every student has potential and talent, and with the right teacher, can find ease and freedom in musical expression.

Emma is a phenomenal teacher and artist. As a professional musician and a student of hers, I couldn't recommend her more highly. She is also a lovely and caring person.
If you are interested in developing your craft as a singer or pianist, look no further.
You are in exceptionally gifted hands. I say this this with much confidence having studied music extensively.
Finding a teacher that authentically posses solid technique and understands how to implement this effectively is extremely rare.
Not only is Emma proficent at voice, she is a master at piano.
If you are serious about studying either instrument, Emma is an exceptional teacher well worth investing in as a student.

Ms. McDermott is not only a fantastic voice teacher, but she explains everything clearly and gives me very simple steps to follow on my own so that I always feel prepared for the next week!

I had a great first lesson with Emma this past Thursday. I have sung in my church choir for years and am hoping to learn more about solo singing. She is very nice and warm- I can't wait for this Thursday!
