Hired on Thumbtack

There was a leak around the chimney and Dan did a good job sealing it up. Dan is easy to work with and eager to see that the customer is satisfied with his work. I would hire him again if need be.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Your near worry free , comfortable , convenient , peace of mind is always my initial goal. Near worry free because plainly put... " We don't know each other. " I've learned that this is a "much" larger issue and or potential problem now than in recent history. It was never as hard to feel good about service agreements for remodeling or even signed contracts for new business ventures. Why??? With the functionality and ease of our world wide web we don't get the "Face Time" General appearance, expression, voice tone, emotion, passion...... Etc..etc..etc. vital first impressions just don't happen. How would you like to proceed??? Text some questions... Send me email... Or call me on the phone... Heck, you could text me a picture you had taken of the email you tried sending with your phone number and a list of the times best for me to call you. Whatever you'd be comfortable with... I am genuinely interested and want to talk with you about your project. Contact me for nothing more than a good conversation with honest insight if you like... start a repor... Common sense, good judgment and sound reason can take it from there.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I spent the better part of two weeks, my free time, making a custom, cherry wood cribbage board for a woman I briefly chatted with at Walmart while waiting in line... She was recently made legally blind due to an infection. Good to blind, blurred shapes and colors still fading, in three months time. Soo many simple passions and pleasure gone for good. She was really holding on by a thread. She was worried about the cribbage board she was buying and obviously stressed. Cards she had figured out. Counting her points on the board had her truly bothered. cribbage on Saturday morning was her last and only connection with her father, living in a retirement home and suffering from advancing Alzheimer's. As tears welled up in her eyes I became emotional myself and jumped from "friendly conversation to INVOLVED" as she paid for the cribbage board I got the address from her I'd and left on a mission. I designed her board slightly larger with large pegs and made the space between five holes greater as well. Beautiful flame treated hand burnished cherry wood... The icing.... On the underside I chiseled recessed track under the peg holes. Where I then placed LED light strips. Purple ... They run off cr 2032 watch batteries. And are covered finally with burgundy color fine leather.. hand tooled, so she sight or not could always see it, with Her name. I wish I'd taken a picture... When turned on, purple light ,which beautifully accented the cherry, illuminates every hole clearly. I delivered it on a Friday evening with a tear in MY eye. It was awkward initially, reminding her of our chat and explaining how I got her address, at which point we were talking through the screen door again. She didn't know what to think... When I presented her with her board........ Suffice to say that she loves it and we're close friends now... We play cribbage ourselves on Friday nights. Religiously... She counts for herself... And then some occasionally, which I always turn a blind eye to... MAKE A DIFFERENCE. COMPASSION IS ADDICTIVE AND CONTAGIOUS..... NoNoDan.....
