This week I put out a bid on Thumbtack to get a table I'd bought off Craigslist moved from the seller's house to my in-laws. I'm moving down to the Orlando area later this month, and the table had to be moved before then. I was in a tight spot. I put out a bid on Thumbtack and another site and received around 10 in short order. For a smaller job - just moving a table and chairs - most places quoted me over $300. Thomas Sankara Moving cut that price in half. I was pretty nervous, given that I'd not hired someone off of here before, but it could not have gone smoother. Right from the start, Quincy was helpful and courteous, assuring me they could and would get the job done, even with a few extra considerations I needed (I asked if they could pay the seller up front, and then my in-laws pay them on the back end). They arrived the next day, promptly, at the seller's home. She said they "could not have been more professional." A half hour later, my mother-in-law phoned me to let me know they'd been so nice and done such a great job that she asked for a business card. I can assure you, I was nervous. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Unlike the other companies we offer set prices that ARE negotiable! We accept cash, check, credit, or debit cards.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We begin our process with a new customer by first evaluating their needs. Once we are sure we can accommodate those needs we offer a quote. If the customer agrees to the quote we will email them an estimate. Then we will schedule the move. We send the customer a reminder the day prior to moving day. When we arrive on moving day we bring in all equipment necessary to complete your move. Two guys begin wrapping all furniture and mattresses, while one guy begins loading boxes and small furniture. Then two guys begin carrying the big furniture while one guy unassembles the beds. Then we finish loading the truck, secure the load, and slowly drive to the new location. Once we arrive at the new location we unload your belongings where you'd like them to go, clean-up, collect payment, and leave. Payment is due the same day as the move. We accept cash, check, debit or credit cards.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We have Professional Commercial Drivers transporting your goods. Every employee is trained on how to pack and transport items so customers items are safe. Every employee has multiple years of moving experience.
