- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons are $15/lesson and are generally only 30 minutes long once a week. For adult students that are willing and wanting to have longer lessons, I will do 45 minute sessions for $23/lesson. I have several different contracts, where lessons can be paid monthly, or per lesson. For my regular students that will be having lessons every week I do charge for the full month and expect students to be present at every lesson that month. However, I offer more flexible contracts that determine the frequency of lessons and pay. All options are discussed after the first lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first lesson will always be free and will be mostly getting to know the student and then finding which level the student should start in theory, technique, and lesson books. If the student has any piano books, we will go discuss whether or not those books fit the student's need or if they will need to purchase other books. I try my best to use the books students already have, though it is not guaranteed. After the first lesson, we will decide whether or not we are a good student/teacher match and then decide what level, how often, and what time we will be meeting if we decide to go farther!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have played the piano for 16 years and also have a background in singing and flute. I have been teaching piano for almost 5 years and have taught students from 4 years old to 60 years old. I have played the piano for weddings, churches, and accompanied school and church choirs.
