Introduction: In home convenience and Dog leadership training to correct ill mannered dog behaviors. I provide training through a leadership lens and am calm, assertive, and proactive and intentional in my approach. I not only focus on classical and operant conditioning principles but explain "dog psychology" and the "whys" dogs do things they do and that are so grossly misunderstood by many. For instance, there is NO PUNISHMENT in DOG WORLD. They do not come from the wild thinking, "if we do this we are gonna get in trouble." Many humans actually punish dogs. It is meaningless to dogs other than scaring them. (just an example of a misconception humans have). Lastly, I don't teach appeasement. I teach, "what is your command master?" Love teaching owners and changing their understanding about what dogs really need as well as common mistakes and traps humans fall into when engaging their dogs. I love educating dog owners and providing them functional effective skill sets in helping to train their dogs.

David should change the name of Save The Mailmen to Save the Owner! David is by far the best dog trainer I have ever seen. From the instant he walks into your home to meet your pup, you will understand that David knows what he’s talking about when it comes to training dogs. He has a calm and strong presence that immediately commands a dog’s respect. After the first training session with David, I had immediate results from my Saint Bernard/Sheepadoodle pup. As an owner, David makes it easy to understand the training process. I really enjoy how David focuses the training on your bond with the dog, rather than using a reward or punishment system. After 4 training sessions, my friends have all been very complementary of my pup’s progress. My big fluffy puppy has become much more manageable and is well on his way to being a perfectly trained dog. I highly recommend David to anyone looking for a professional dog trainer. Just remember, David can show you how to train your dog, it’s up to you to follow through with consistent practice and training to see the best results.

David, with Save The Mailmen dog training, understands dogs. He gets down to the root behavior and builds skills on that for both the dog and the owner. Davids service is not inexpensive, but you get true one on one service in your dogs natural environment. Our Golden Retriever is happy, and very obedient, especially for only being 7 months old!! I am sure she will only get better with age. I highly recommend Save The Mailmen dog training--I just wish David offered intermediate and advanced training!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer military 2nd dog discounts. I am currently running a $50.00 off our New Revolution Puppy Training Program for In Home Training. I cut out all the large charges that "Big Box" trainers charge because I don't have their overhead.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need to provide an hour long free consultation with the main handlers if not the whole family as dogs are part of a "pack" mentality. Upon assessing the dog and its specific needs, while uncovering possible fear anxiety, or aggressive based issues, I discuss my model and methods and explain why the dog behaves as it does. Once this is done, I offer a in home training program tailored to my client's needs.

Over 33 years of in home dog training. Hundreds of dogs.
