Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I help individuals and small businesses fight the IRS. There is no greater feeling then finding a business on the brink of closure and working out all the tax problems and getting the business back on track... Actually it might be better when I have clients that receive IRS letters demanding payment, and after working with me they actually end up with a refund. I also love receiving letters saying all of my client's penalties were abated. I am a certified public accountant and have spent the last 9 years saving my clients money. While I have experience working on a variety of issues, there are some specific areas of expertise that I would like to highlight. I am an expert at doing tax returns and tax planning services for people working outside of the US and for those coming to the US during the year (foreign nationals and expatriates). I accurately prepare tax returns for people working in multiple states during the year. I also address tax notices from the IRS. Managing expectations is key. If I tell someone I will do something, it will get done. Open communication and proper due diligence can save a lot of headaches. Some of the most rewarding work I get to do is educate my clients. The tax code is not simple, so explanations both to non-native English speakers and in Spanish require delicate wording. If there is a complicated issue you want to understand, let me know and I will explain it to you; this adds value and proactively helps avoid future issues.

I lived and worked in multiple states this past year, and ended up needing to file four different state taxes, in addition to my federal taxes. Jim Baker CPA at Tax Future LLC not only processed my complicated situation, but did so in a cordial, understandable manner. He explained everything I didn't understand, set up my refunds to be directly-deposited into my account, and did so quickly and efficiently. Filing my taxes was painless; I even received my first refund in the first week of February! All in all, I would definitely recommend Jim and his tax service.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a CPA and have been practicing in public accounting my whole career. I have experience working with all different types of clients from individuals to partnerships to corporations. I still have a large network of professionals available in case I get stuck on an issue or need my work reviewed. Working with me is like being serviced by a large public accounting firm at a fraction of the price.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't let the price be the deciding factor as to who you choose. There are many people on thumbtack with limited experience and resources who send out low bids to get the work. Working with a qualified professional will increase your chances of - Saving money by utilizing all available deductions and avoiding double taxation. Reducing audit risk by filing correctly. Understanding what is happening by receiving clear explanations. Missing a required filing such as an FBAR or Form 5471 filing which carry serious penalties if omitted. The moral of the story is, you get what you pay for. My rates are not too high and I am very flexible with payment. Let's talk.
