Introduction: I have been a Culinary School trained Chef for 27 years. I have been the head Chef for a number of venues including restaurants, large catered events, residential events, drop off gourmet meal service and cooking instruction. I typically charge an on-site Chefs Fee for cooking private dinner parties or luncheons, plus a reasonable per person charge depending on the menu they choose, however, each client is different and pricing varies depending on my clients needs. I mostly enjoy doing events in clients homes or Airb&b’s for gatherings or private dinner parties or drop off service for both, however, I am up for most any situation.

Chef Shelly was excellent!! From planning the menu to executing a personal dining experience she knocked it out of the park! The food was fresh and delicious! Her assistant Katie was excellent as well. Would highly recommend.

I hired Chef Shelly for a surprise birthday party for my husband and she and her team were absolutely amazing! Working with her pre-event was so easy and the food was fantastic. I would hire her again in a minute. It was an absolute pleasure and she exceeded my expectations in every way!

I cannot say enough about our experience with Chef Shelly and her team. From the moment I first emailed with Shelly to the end of our dinner party- EVERYTHING was perfect. I was hosting a dinner party for 12 for my wife’s Birthday. Unsure of local in-house chef experiences, I turned to Thumbtack. I was matched with Chive (Chef Shelly). Shelly helped me plan the menu and talk through logistics and details. She stayed in touch with me leading up to our dinner. Shelly and her team arrived promptly that evening and began their magic. They were fun, friendly and had great energy. They accommodated a couple dietary requests as well. Following apps and drinks we sat for dinner. The salads came out and were beautiful- everything was so fresh and delicious. Next was our main course (most selected filet, we also had a chicken and a salmon) EVERYONE was so happy with their dish. The filet was the BEST PREPARED FILET I HAVE EVER HAD. they could all steaks to personal preference and did it to perfection! The mashed potatoes and broccoli rob were fantastic compliments. For dessert we had individual warm lava cakes. Presented with fresh berries.... the perfect finish to an amazing meal. Hands down Shelly EXCEEDED ALL expectations. I would recommend her to anyone. Do not hesitate. Book her. You will not be disappointed. We look forward to a future opportunity to experience a meal with Shelly again. A real class act, high quality food, amazing flavor, immaculate and all around spectacular. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time using a personal chef and it far exceeded my expectations. Chef Shelly is an excellent communicator which made everything go very smoothly. She arrived on time and immediately got to work in the kitchen. This made throwing a dinner party super easy. I was able to enjoy time with my guests and not worry about a thing from start to finish. But the greatest part of the experience was the food itself. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I’m still craving the crab cakes! I can’t wait to plan my next party just so I can use Chive again.

Pricing is different for every customer. Food choices, number of guests and special requests all play a role in pricing each function.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak with new customers about menu ideas, then submit a more coherent menu to them highlighting and enhancing their ideas. I also like to look at the space before an event to troubleshoot and get inspiration for a successful event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Culinary school, head Chef at several restaurants, successful completion of many many caterings and events, private Chef in several residences for clients for events and weight loss programs.
