The Piano Lady

Introduction: I train piano students for entrance into the Royal Schools of Music (based in London, UK) at the Zen Music Center in East Brunswick, NJ. I also teach in my home. I have taught piano and music theory since the age of 14 when I attended and graduated from the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and The Performing Arts in New York, NY. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Theory and Composition from Mercy College/Westchester Conservatory of Music in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Music Composition from The California Institute of the Arts, also known as CalArts, in Valencia, CA. Piano was my main instrument while in school. I am well qualified to teach children beginning at 4 years old who know their alphabet letters, older children, teenagers, and adults. I also teach autistic children who know their alphabet letters. I teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced piano students. I allow my students to learn at their own pace. I greatly enjoy the positive relationship between myself and the piano student. I enjoy the accomplishment the piano student feels as they learn their piano music. By my adding music theory to the lesson, this knowledge equips the piano student to have thorough understanding of what it is they are experiencing. I strive to make playing piano a fun experience.
