FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes and no. We offer a 2-week Board & Train Program. How it works is your canine stays in my home for a 2-week period. During this time your canine will be trained on either Housebreaking or Obedience or a combination of both. After two weeks you return and we will should you what we taught your canine. That same day we begin your lesson. We teach you how to maintain what your canine has learned. We recommend that you take at least (3) lessons. You may take as many lessons as you wish as they are free. As for Pet Sitting we provide services that include daycare, overnight stays, drop-ins, walks, etc. So prices will vary based on the service you need.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, when receiving contact from a potential client I like to listen to what the problem is and ask a series of questions to be sure I am understanding the problem correctly. I will either suggest a service that will solve their problem or schedule a Meet & Greet. Most times a potential client is interested in booking us right on the spot while there are other times they may need additional assurances. Most often than not the client books our services for either a stay or training of some sort. During our conversation either over the phone, via email, text or in person we come up with a plan of action, we discuss pricing and what they need to bring with them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Because there are no legitimate professional state licenses or governing bodies that oversee for Dog Trainers most trainers work under more seasoned trainers. Yes, there are some schools out there ie TX and OH that teach basic skills. But you have to develop your own skills and that takes years. In my case I trained under John Toutloff of ABC's of Dog Training in North Lauderdale, Florida. He has been training dogs in obedience, housebreaking and protection since 1965. He is able to take on any canine challenge. After a lot of thought he agreed to train me 1-on-1 in Florida and has taught me his proven methods. He has shown me everything I know about being a professional dog trainer. I will always grateful that he took me on. He is my mentor.
