I love teaching piano. I have had many students over the years. Some became professional musicians. Many went into other fields but we still

Dean has been a highly respected member of the Milwaukee jazz community for several decades. As one of his many fans, I have particularly enjoyed his versatility in addition to his musicality and technical expertise. Dean is adept in virtually every jazz setting - including those where he must also provide the bass part.
In 2005, I hired Dean as the piano instructor and combo coach for my newly formed Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Jazz Studies Program. It was immediately apparent that Dean is an excellent teacher as well. While his highly developed skills and talents are obvious, his humility, gentle demeanor, patience and caring spirit put students at ease. In the spring of 2017, Dean was still creating that ideal learning environment for students enrolled in MYSO Jazz Studies.
In addition to his talents as a performer and teacher, Dean is well read, intellectually curious and conversant on a wide variety of topics – an excellent resource for young minds.
