Introduction: I am so excited to begin this new adventure with my own design firm... Misfit Interiors! I'm an Interior Design Consultant offering creative ideas and functional solutions that I have acquired while being in the industry for over 15 years. My previous Design services were available through: Armstrong Furniture & Interior Design Lincoln, NE 2000-2005 Bassett Furniture Mpls, MN 2005-2008 and 2012-2015 Schneiderman's Furniture Lakeville, MN 2008-2012 Anybody that knows me or more importantly has worked with me, will tell you that I absolutely LOVE what I do... resulting in happy, satisfied clients! I have done numerous projects that range from a single room to complete homes as well as commercial properties. My clients enjoy working with me because I'm fun and professional. I'm able to interpret a clear vision of exactly what they are looking for by listening and paying close attention to what their wants and needs are while also respecting budgets. My services include: in home design consultations, floor plans, color suggestions, furniture selection as well as art and accessories. I do offer a few different options that can be modified and tailored to best meet your needs and maximize your budget. After the initial consultation you can decide if your project calls for me to do the product selection & shopping for you OR perhaps a more DIY approach fits your needs, I would give you the floor plan along with furniture, art, accessories and color suggestions and you would do the product shopping.

Heidi was a pleasure to work with. She listened to us and then helped us design and plan 3 rooms of furniture. She also advised us on paint colors and many finishing touches to complete our spaces. We had a budget and Heidi worked with us to stay there. We visited many showrooms and Heidi made an impression from the start. We went with our gut and had a rapport that really worked. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard hourly rate is $45. I do also offer a 2 hour in home consultation at $199 if you're simply looking for ideas or have minimal design needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process begins with what I consider the "phone interview" a short conversation so we can each see if it sounds like the right match. After that an in home consultation appointment is scheduled, this is where I gather the majority of information needed and get to know the personality of my clients and a sense for the direction or look they're going for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of sales and interior design experience. I'm very proud to say I received a Pinnacle award for being one of the top 10 house call design consultants in the country while working for Bassett Furniture.
