I've used Thumbtack before with not so great results but Kelsey made me a believer. She works around your availability schedule, budget and explains in detail for us less tech-savvy site owners what key issues need to be addressed and what can wait. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically provide an estimate that is based on my hourly rate after discussing goals and details with the client. As long as the project scope is clearly outlined and followed (I'll usually get more details often with a branding or web design questionnaire), the final quote rarely changes.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I discuss with them their goals (whether it be branding/logo or web design, as I do both). Depending on the project, I'll usually ask for the client to complete a branding or web design questionnaire. I then provide a proposal on best next steps and my estimate for the project. If all looks good for the client, I'll have them sign off on the agreement and then get started!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I completed a BA in Advertising at the University of MN - Twin Cities. I also received a certificate in Web Design from Saint Paul Technical College. I previously worked as the Director of Marketing & Design for a non-profit in the Twin Cities area, where I managed the communications channels, social media, designing marketing collateral, and managing the company's website. I now run my own web and graphic design business and have been successfully helping small/micro businesses enhance their brand and website identities.
