Thanks for the review Ken. You have been an awesome student and I love to see how you have grown in this language so fast. I can't wait to see you make improvements in the grammar stage!
I haven't started Spanish lessons with Mark yet, but he has been very responsive regarding setting them up.Feb 28, 2017VerifiedSpanish from Scratch - Spanish Language Tutoring's reply

I decided after talking with Mark to have my daughter join us for the lesson. We walked away feeling like we found our guy and we could actually do this, learn Spanish! I'd recommend him without hesitation, you can tell he's passionate about what he's doing and he has so much to share. Awesome experience and we retained our lesson from the first day's "free" lesson. Thanks Mark, you're a God send!Sep 11, 2016VerifiedSpanish from Scratch - Spanish Language Tutoring's reply
Thanks for the quick review Scott! I'm excited to see how you both progress with the language. It's fun to hear similar aspirations to live and work in other countries, and I love being a part of that.
English isn't my first language. Even though I've learned English in school. I really finally learned English through everyday conversation by putting words into context. So when I decided I wanna learn Spanish, I wanted to find a tutor who can help me do the same. And I found Mark. I had zero exposure to Spanish. Mark really helped me get familiar with the language. He tailored the classes to exactly what I need. Every session he teaches me enough so that I can make a progress, but not too much to overwhelm me. He incorporates songs and pictures to help me remember as well. He is phenomenal.Aug 23, 2016VerifiedSpanish from Scratch - Spanish Language Tutoring's reply
Thanks for the kind words Rachelle! It is fun to teach Spain-Spanish to my students when I have the chance, which isn't very common here in the U.S. Keep working hard and you will see results!

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My main process of learning any language for everyone is as follows: 1. Learn and perfect the sound system (pronunciation) 2. Recall and use common vocabulary with mnemonic devices (not memorizing or reviewing) 3. Teach and guide student in basic grammar practice After assessing the students level of language-competence, we then brainstorm together as to what goals they want to meet. Once we have our goals, I make customized lesson plans to achieve those goals based on the 3 points listed above (in order). Some students want help with their classwork while others want to have complete fluency. Each individual lesson will look a little different based on the goals that we want to meet. But but these three goals always stay the same.
