Based on a recommendation from a lender, I hired Halstead Appraisal after my mother died for a property valuation of my motherâs home for tax purposes. The appraisal was done quickly, thoroughly, and at a reasonable price. Mr. Halstead was very knowledgeable, and helped us in many ways, including giving us an idea of what repairs and upgrades would help us improve the homeâs value and help us to quickly sell the home when we were ready to sell it, and a list of reputable contractors for the jobs. When we decided to sell the home privately for an all cash offer, we asked him to do another appraisal for market value at that time. The buyer also hired an appraiser. When we compared the two appraisals we and the buyers found Mr. Halsteadâs appraisal was far superior, more thorough, more reflective of property values, and provided a complete analysis that explained the process on how the value was determined.
