Introduction: Hi! Thanks for reaching out for lessons! First & foremost, I work to instill self-confidence in all who study with me. My singing, voice over acting, voice/speech, public speaking, songwriting, and accent reduction instruction are very personalized and unique to each student, and I've taught all ages from 6 - 96. I'm currently located in the Atlanta area. I have decades of experience in all the above fields including Broadway theatre, keynote public speaking, voice overs in all the media, gold & platinum recordings as the artist & songwriter, and countless live performances. I've taught all these skills for over 30 years privately and at schools in New York and S. California such as the Orange County School of the Arts, Saddleback College, Irvine Valley College, University of California/San Diego, The Performers Academy, Child Actor LA and The Paul Merage School of Business at University of California/Irvine. I decided to learn something new in 2022 and have always enjoyed singing karaoke at work events. I had never learned how to sing though and thought I could do better. I was looking for singing lessons in the area, and all were a decent drive away so I decided to check Thumbtack to see if there were virtual options. I found Beverly here and contacted her. She got right back to me, and we sorted out a time for an intro lesson. We do our lessons on Zoom and it is super convenient. It was immediately clear she is an expert and had a system that would allow me to learn and progress. After 16 lessons, I can tell you that she is a legitimate professional singer and teacher. Her system has given me tools not just for singing, also for public speaking, podcasting, and just getting through a busy day where I have to do a lot of talking without my voice or throat hurting. Beverly is kind and patient. She is flexible with her scheduling and when I had conflicts, accommodated them willingly. She even worked with my Executive Assistant to handle all bookings etc. And now six months and 16 lessons later, I can sing much better. I understand my range, how to find and sing in the right key and maintain pitch appropriately. I understand the importance of using my emotions to convey the emotion and spirit of songs. If you want to learn to sing, or sing better, podcast, speak in public or just feel more healthy in general I highly recommend Beverly and her Voicercise program.

I’ve been doing vocal lessons with Ms. Beverly for approximately 6 months. She is literally the best to ever do it!! She has so much knowledge about the music game. It’s always great to learn and grow with every vocal lesson. I’ve seen major improvement in my vocal range. I’m excited to see where I will be in another 6 months!! Miss Beverly has been a joy to work with! My 7 year old has more confidence in public speaking and has been using all the tools she shared to develop a strong vocal presence. Each lesson builds on the other so there’s great continuity and Miss Beverly gives great constructive suggestions. It was my son’s first formal lesson in voiceovers, and she was such a pleasure to work with and learn from.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are based on an hourly lesson, but I offer a free lesson if 8 lessons are paid for in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know the student as a person first, then find out what experience or training they may have had and what they're goals are. I'll then get right to work on improving their skills, along with building their confidence in themselves.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a working professional for 40+ years and teaching it throughout my career. As a singing/acting instructor, I studied with Carlo Mennotti at Carnegie Hall, graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and studied with multiple teachers at such institutions as HB Studio, Stella Adler, & Estelle Harman. I studied accent reduction with Dr. Arthur Compton & Dr. David Allen Stern.
