We had an incident where our dog chewed all of our homes air conditioner's wires causing our unit to not work.. we then stumbled upon TMC heating and cooling who not only came out that same day but had our air conditioner up and running as well! We will definitely be having TMC taking care of all of our heating and cooling needs. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I want my pricing to be fair, there's going to be prices higher and lower but with TMC I want you to know you're getting the best and the overall cost is going to be lower than most of my competitors. Just to clarify the difference between price vs cost. Price is what you're paying now and cost is what you're paying for the life of the unit. You might have a lower price initially but what's the overall cost going to be? You can get a contractor to go in an out but is installed right? Installation is about 90% of the problem with equipment failure or efficiency issues. Get it installed right! I do have discounts and generally do not charge any fees. I give free estimates and do not charge a diagnostic fee. When you sign up on our Fire & Ice program quarterly maintenance program you'll receive a 5% discount on new installs and 20% off all repairs. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like information I'm very analytical. The more info you can give me about the job really helps. I generally ask for name, address, email. When I arrive at the home I go over any concerns or issues you're having and make sure we touch all bases so we cover all your options. I won't suggest things you do not need. When I leave your home I want you to be educated on all the services and options you have!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I kind of stumbled my way into the field. I was fresh out of school I had found a job with my uncle installing fire sprinklers, I liked it but it got real slow and a big layoff happened. I was without a job and was applying everywhere under the sun. I finally got a call and was asked if I could come in for an interview in the next 30 minutes and of course I said yes. I started rushing to get ready so I had no time to research. I probably applied at 25 different places so I really didn't remember who or what the company did. After arriving we're going through the interview and he tells me the position I applied for wasn't available but they had an opening for an installer...I paused and asked installing??... I didn't feel very good at that point because I always like being prepared but when he said heating and air conditioning I was ready to walk out the room, I always told myself I'd never do that type of work because while I was installing fire sprinklers I'd see the HVAC guys in action and didn't like the work, so it was kind of funny that I was in this position but I agreed to the opening because I needed a job and hey what's the worse that can happen... 12 happy years later I'm here with my own HVAC company and wouldn't have it any other way! I love what I do and I love being able to help keep my customers families comfortable!
