- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have over 15 years experience in the food industry. I have always wanted my own business, and in 2015, I quit my 2 jobs, took a leap of faith, and started Hot Plates. For the first two years, Hot Plates operated out of my home. I personally cooked to order hot meals and delivered them to students at Alabama State University where I was also a student majoring in Psychology. In 2017, we were able to get a food truck equipped with a fully functional commercial kitchen. We now operate daily at 853 University Dr and cater events.

We have worked with all types of customers from students to government officials.
