Greenberg Math Tutoring

Introduction: Hello, my name is Josh Greenberg. For the past six years, I have maintained a steady clientele of students in all areas of math, including Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. I tutor upper level college math courses, as well as physics at both the high school and college level. I also work with clients on SAT and ACT Prep. I have a BA in Mathematics from UConn. Here is my relevant experience: Professional tutor: 6 years Tutor at Academic Success Center of MxCC: 3 years Volunteer SAT Tutor: 2 years I have worked with students of all ages in several different contexts. From high school to college to adult education, I have seen it all. This allows me to connect the different areas of math that I teach in a way that a tutor who only specializes in one area of math cannot do. I strive to show my students those connections because that's what gets them excited about math. However, I don't let that distract me from the student's immediate requirements. Homework needs to be completed, and students must be prepared to perform well on tests. I match my teaching style to both the immediate and long-term needs of the student. I also put together practice problems and other materials to reinforce the material covered in my lessons. I enjoy learning new material the most when I think about how I would teach it to someone else. In college, I helped many of my classmates with the course material. I am especially proud of these moments because it means I had to master the material for the class well enough to teach it to someone else within the same time frame that I had to just learn it.
