If I could give him a zero star I would but this site doesn't allow for a zero star status. This was the most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with. He bid a job that I gave him very specific measurements (60' linear feet by 30") which needed finished mortar. I sent several pictures as well. He quoted me a price. According to his profile he lives almost two hours away. I questioned him about the distance and whether this job was worth it. Yes ma'am he replied and said several times he would start Monday morning at 8 am and finish the same day. We agreed upon a price. The time for him to arrive came and my husband and i were in the front yard picking up some stuff while we waited on him. Thirty minutes after he said he would be here he sends me a text saying
"If you have someone else they give you a cheaper price I went by I believe it was sitting out there I decline" I responded asking him about the "sitting" there comment and he responds "I believe your husband was sitting out front of your house stuff in the front of your house" I respond "You drove all this way and drove by. Why didn't you stop and give this a good look ". I called him and it went straight to voicemail. Ten minutes later he calls me and says "I gave it a good look". I say you never even stopped your car and then he tells me " I was in your driveway at 7:07 am and was looking at the work needed done." At 7:07 it was still pitch dark outside so there is so way he could see the scope of the work. He then tells me he had a flashlight looking around while we were still sleeping. (That's creepy) he also says your neighbor saw me sitting in your driveway. (I will be talking with the neighbors to get a license plate) my response to him was "if at 7:07 you got out and looked around my house in the dark and decided NOT to do the work "why" then did you drive back by at 8:30 to look at my house again?" Especially since he apparently lives 1 hr 45 minutes away? Wouldn't he just head back home? Was he hoping no one would be here when he drove past again over an hour 15 minutes later? Not only is this so unprofessional it is concerning. Good thing we can ID his vehicle.
