FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I need to know what type of shoot they are looking for. If, for example, they were looking for senior photos, I would begin by asking what kind of background they were thinking about and from there talk about different locations that may appeal to them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing professional photography for two years and have had my work featured on many online photography sites, such as ViewBug and GuruShots. My work has also been featured in online magazines, such as The Odyssey Online. I was recently published in the 2017 edition of "The Broken Plate." I am also involved in a photography group at my university.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The first pictures I ever took with a real DSLR camera were on a vacation with my high school band. I had a lot of free models to work with and learned the basics of shooting from that one week. I also began to post the pictures and people started asking me about taking their senior pictures. The original goal when I started Chase Malcom Photography was to make senior photos available to everyone in my high school, because photographers normally asked upwards of $100 per hour plus the price of the prints. It has grown from there to the business it is today.
