Our performing arts studio in Mount Kisco, Ny hired Kieran to create a film for our film acting class. He met the students, did some improv and other experimental type theatre games and from that interaction with them, wrote a screenplay, directed and edited the film. He shot the entire film as well, all in our studio and using just one other location spot. He was amazing with the kids. And I could not have been happier with the final result. He had a gift with very quickly assessing each child and created a part for them in the movie that made them shine on camera. This was especially impressive to me because some of the children were shy and /or had no acting experience, but on film each child looked like a pro! And as the studio owner, I can tell you he was great to work with, always on time, always prepared. This was especially impressive to me because he was also traveling back and forth on the train to NYC auditioning and booking his own acting jobs as well as being a husband and incredible father to his 2 young daughters. With all this, he still had a vision for our film project from day 1 and was very methodical about seeing it through. He was also courteous to receive input from me when I saw things that I thought might need a tweak and then would make adjustments accordingly or explain to me why we needed to leave it as it was. The day Kieran told me he and his family were moving to Chicago, I cried inside! NY's loss of Kieran Campion is definitely Chicago's gain!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $50/half hour or $80/hour lesson. If you're nearby or willing to come to me, we can talk about discounts. For regular clients (ie. weekly/monthly) I will negotiate discounts and incentives. I am also available for group lessons at discounted per-student rates. Have a friend you want to work with? Rehearsing for a play with a scene partner? Let's talk. Prices for audition tapes will be negotiated on an individual basis, based on number and length of scenes as well as complexity of editing requirements.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It depends on your needs. With new beginning students, I will take it slow to get a feel for your particular strengths and needs. We will work on basic technique and scene study skills, with a particular emphasis on grounding your performance in reality. For more seasoned actors with a specific need (ie. prep for an audition) we will get right to it. I will give you concise and producible advice that will make your performance soar. For audition tapes, I will provide a reader (yours truly!) as well as professional lighting and camera. I will work with you and do as many takes as you need to get it just right. I will edit and deliver a final cut in a timely manner and put you in a great position to book that job!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a BA in theatre from Colgate university, I also studied at the British American Drama Academy and at the Williamstown theatre festival with some of the most seasoned teachers in the business. I also have 18 years of experience as a working actor in all sectors - Film, TV, Theatre and commercials, with lots of advice to give based on my experience.
