FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For recurring cleanings, I quote a set price which I base on the size of the home, number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms. My set price is normally between $40-$80 per cleaning. One time cleanings I work out with the customer if they would like a set price or would like to charge hourly and I take the same things into consideration as I do the recurring cleaning jobs. I do carpet cleanings, windows, appliance cleaning ect. which I charge hourly at a rate of $15 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do the consultation (meet and greet) and discuss your needs. I then quote my price or an approximate price as some jobs I charge hourly. Hourly jobs are sometimes hard to specify an exact amount of hours. It depends on the size of the house and what all they want done. If it's a recurring job I quote a set amount. If they chose to hire me, I then set a date with them to do the job. I expect payment when the job is complete and they are satisfied with my work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a mother of 3. I still have 2 children living at home. My oldest daughter has a medical condition that requires me to be available for her specialist appointments and to be home to help her when she needs me. Before I started cleaning I was a CNA doing in home care jobs. The hours and demands of that job, didn't allow me to be there for my daughter whenever she needed me to be. Having a set schedule just wasn't working out, so 3 yrs ago I resigned from the company I was working for to be home with my daughter. I have always enjoyed cleaning and cleaning allows me to set my own schedule around my daughter's medical needs. My goal is to build my clientele and make a business out of it.
