Melissa was awesome, she came out to the poconos for my best friends bachelorette party. She was fantastic, I contacted her months prior and made this entire process super easy which was a huge relief since planning something with 12 women can be a headache. She made payment extremely easy with Venmo as well. We were out of the house when she arrived, so when we came home the house was set up and decorated and the house smelled delicious! Our food was fantastic, everyone was so happy with everything she made. We rented a B&B for 8 old friends who hadn't seen each other in years and had Chef Melissa make us dinner for the evening. It was phenomenal! She was incredibly professional but also wonderfully friendly. She helped us figure out a menu, cooked, served, and cleaned up. She was patient with our restrictions (2 vegetarians and 1 with massive allergies), creative with her selection and wonderful with her communication. I had a wonderful experience with Chef Melissa. I booked her for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday and everyone was so pleased with her. She was excellent with her communication. We actually hit a bit of a snag that was totally out of her control on the day of the party, but she immediately let me know and was able to come up with a quick solution! So the party went off without a single hitch. The food itself was incredible! We had a delicious French cuisine and she was on top of hosting. She kept our glasses full and made sure everyone had everything they needed at all times while tending to the kitchen. And to top it all off, not only did she set up a beautiful table scape in the beginning, she put away and cleaned everything at the end, including sweeping. Chef Melissa and her team provided private chef services for lunch for 15 of my private clients across a two-day retreat event in New York City. Even though it was solely lunch, it was three courses which she started with a custom beverage. She provided glasses, flatware and dinnerware. She also provided a printed menu for each person for each day's menu. A full on experience. My clients LOVED her presence. I would like to also mention, two days before the event, the venue I booked had a fire and we had to move at the last minute. Chef Melissa took it all in stride, changed the menu slightly and kept right on going - a testimony to her professionalism and experience. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The cost for Private Chef services are $70-100 per hour, plus the cost of food. The charges include: Menu Planning, Food Shopping, Prep time, Cooking, Storing all food properly, and cleaning the kitchen.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, I like to find out what type of level of service they are looking for, what type of cuisines that interest them, and then create a specific experience unique to each clients specific expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I graduated from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health in NYC in the fall of 2000. I have also completed a Nursing course and plan to incorporate my knowledge of Nursing and Biochemistry into helping people with food.
