Introduction: My name is Joseph. I began playing the piano and writing music at a very young age. I've been teaching for over ten years, and I love sharing music with my students. I specialize in piano, composition, and music theory, and I play many genres ranging from classical to R&B.
I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Music Composition at The Graduate Center, CUNY, and I have taught undergraduate courses at Queens College, CUNY.
I love sharing music with my students. I find that students are the most motivated when they are playing music that they love, so I tailor my curriculum to fit your interests and abilities. I want you to have fun, while being stimulated and challenged! Here are some sample topics we will cover:
--healthy and effortless technique
--fluency in music reading
--classical repertoire
--pop, rock, or improvisation
--basic scales/chords/arpeggios
--basic musicianship (including ear training, expression, style, performance, etc.)
