Introduction: I have over 25 students, from ages 6-70 ranging from beginner to advanced levels. My number one goal is for my students to have fun and love what they are doing. I have a very open approach to teaching, and cater toward the students' musical interests. For my younger students, I often let them choose a song they love (maybe a song from a movie or a pop song) and I make them custom sheet music for that song at the appropriate level. For my jazz/Improv students, we take a music theory approach, and I make sure the students are equipped with all the tools necessary to improvise over any jazz tune that comes their way. I have a degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and am a full-time jazz and pop pianist. I have given music lectures at Brooklyn College, and have traveled around the country giving jazz/Improv master classes in colleges and high schools. I have performed all over the world, and opened for pop artists such as Charlie Puth and Tove Lo. Also, my original music has been heard on NBC's The Voice, and NPR's All Things Considered. I love using music to make connections with all types of people throughout the city.

Adam has been working with my 2 kids for well over a year now. He crafted strategies and worked patiently with them in teaching the basics while at the same time engaged. My son has autism and can be a challenge at times. My daughter can be difficult in her own way but she has come to look forward to her weekly sessions. Adam has been more than wonderful in keeping their interest levels high by working within their interests rather than the tedious recital & repetitious practices. While that may work for most children, not every child is built the same way. I feel that in taking the initiative to think outside the box in furthering their interest in music, this is too priceless an attribute not to applaud.

Adam is a fantastic teacher for all ages. I work with him as well as my 14 year old daughter. He is not only super talented, nice, smart and good with kids, but can teach in wide variety of styles, and will make arrangements for any song you are interested in.

As a student who is taking piano lessons via video chat for the first time, I strongly recommend Adam regardless whether you have the chance to see him in person or not. I have had past experiences with several other teachers and I can confidently say that he is one of the best teachers I've ever had thus far. He is a great teacher who has introduced me to new information that I always sought to learn. I have learned a lot from Adam in such little time, and I look forward to each lesson I have with him for it keeps me motivated and inspired. Adam is also very helpful with additional information such as college advice. If you have certain goals you would like to achieve in your piano playing, Adam is the one who will guide you towards it efficiently!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am willing to work with students on making a fair negotiation if they can't afford my fee. I don't charge upfront, and students pay on a lesson to lesson basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know new students right off the bat and figure out the best approach to helping them have a good relationship with practicing and learning the piano. I often take a music theory approach, because I find that students have more fun when they understand the mechanics of what they are playing, and have the ability to improvise and create music off the top of their heads.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A Bachelors Degree in Music from the Manhattan School of Music, years of experience touring and performing all over the world.
