Trustworthy Pet Sitter with Ample Experience
About this pro
Do Not Hire this person!!!. He is personable and articulates well but that is not indicative of his respect for your property or hi behavior. I hired him to stay in my home for 9 days while I was away on vacation. He had 5 cats with 2 special needs. I gave extensive written instruction on personality, food, and medication- times, administration, and maintaining the space. I also showed him on the 3 separate occasions on how to give the med. where the food and medication is kept etc. Also he was to give me daily repots on food consumption, medicine and poop. He had a private bedroom and bathroom at his deposal and He was not allowed to use my private bathroom or my computer. When I came home I saw dirty water bowels that were clearly not cleaned the 2x a day. The food “raw” meat had been out for a while which is a health risk. He skipped at least 1 dose of medication. My TV was in the middle of the living room my bed in my bedroom was moved away from the wall. My private bathrooms tub faucet knob was broken so it wouldn’t turn and leaked hot water non-stop. The counters were filthy the litter rom stank, he left dirty dishes in my sink left his food in an unlined trash can to say the least my apartment stank. He also left urine stains on my guest bathroom rug and I wont even put into words the toilet. He also borrowed my luggage without asking or consent and scuffed it up. Even though I have a camera system he ignored it by behaving and treating my home like his private trash can. When I texted him my outrage he couldn’t believe that I was upset! By the way the plumbing repair cost me $195.00 He was supposed to give me daily reports on if any of the cats bad po he said no but I saw to the contrary. He feed them treats which I said to only give a couple he used it as a main stay and when through nearly an etire He wrote in an email- Final updates: Don't worry about any of the messes you may have noticed via the security cameras. By tomorrow, the entire apartment will be as clean as a whistle. I used your suitcase yesterday because one of the wheels on mine snapped off. (It's an old bag. It was bound to happen eventually). However, I apologize for a) using it without your permission.Aug 8, 2018VerifiedMichael S.'s reply
I kindly ask readers to disregard this scathing indictment of my performance and my character. I am a responsible, considerate pet sitter with an extensive collection of positive (and verified) reviews. This particular client was not satisfied with my performance, despite regular and accurate daily updates, and makes flagrantly false claims throughout. I left no such damages to her apartment and was persistently vigilant about maintaining consistent and honest contact. I do not understand what I did to provoke this client. Her cats were fed, medicated as instructed, and most important, safe.
Exceptional service! I used to cat sit for friends and neighbors and know how challenging cats can be - my experience with Michael has been a blessing for both my cat Milo and for me. He really catered to Mill's needs and showed such compassion and dedication. Very responsive and great communication. Everything was super clean when I got home and Milo seemed happy and in good spirits and health. I will use Michael again in the future and can highly recommend his services. Michael is also a very kind and nice person. Thank you very much Michael! 🐾May 23, 2018Verified
We hired Michael to look after our cat for a few days while we were away. He did a great job and we are very satisfied with the quality of service he provided! He came everyday, gave her food and water, checked on her wellbeing, and sent us updates. This was our first time paying someone to look after our cat, and I am definitely hiring Michael next time we are out of town, and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a responsible and reliable pet sitter!Feb 21, 2017Verified
Nice guy who was polite and punctual. Doorman in my building also mentioned the same.Jun 13, 2018Verified
Michael is great and very accommodating with my schedule. He always made sure to send me updates on Vicky and also fed her and gave her medicine. I highly recommend him.Jun 9, 2018Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In the beginning, I always make a point of personally visiting the client and his or her pet(s) in the comfort of their own home. This typically provides the client with the opportunity to give me the run-down on things like grooming habits, specific diets, and administering medication when necessary. I also like to leave a unique, handwritten note to each client before I leave. I like to think of it as a gesture to display my gratitude for the client's hospitality.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (Certified by the American Red Cross through May 2019). Please refer to my list of Media Files for the PDF link to my Certificate.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project? When hiring a professional to perform his or her job in a private, intimate setting like one's home, I would advise customers to first ask themselves, "Can I fully place my trust in this person once I've handed over the keys to my apartment?" If the answer is a resounding Y-E-S, the next question I'd ask myself concerns competence, aptitude, and professionalism: "Will the person I've now officially entrusted with a) the keys to my home and b) access to my beloved pets truly go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done?" If you can honestly answer this one in the affirmative as well, then there's only one question left: "When is the soonest he/she can begin?"
